Wireless-N Broadcoms are not supported at all.

Actually the BCM4328 model he is citing is nowhere near the "N" standard on this chip. He should install the b43-fwcutter and injection will work out of the box.

sleek: It may not support Wireless-N, but it is an N-PHY chip (similar to Ralink RT2070, which is RT3070 with N disabled). Or maybe it is an LP-PHY (low-power), but LP is also unsupported.

I don't know about BackTrack, but I've successfully used this chipset with the latest version (from compat-wireless) of the b43 driver. No extra patching is needed except the standard mac80211 frag+ack patch.

no, it isn't working but 4312 support in b43 is starting. You can download the latest compat-wireless (or maybe it's only in linux-wireless git atm).

Huh oi. hello my tag is gunmaker. now heres my problem. i see the patch and i understand people say i need to run patch "name of new patch" "name of old wireless driver". im pretty certain i could accomplish that. im running ubuntu just like allot of you are. so where is this magical directory where my "kernel" and "old wireless driver" is stored? the only directories that i know how to get are root , home , and media... so do you know where that is ? much appreciated.  Huh

also heads up to some of you who missed it suds has a good driver with greatly accelerated injection (if i get to use it xD)

hyperdyne,

This might help you: http://aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=patching

You will have to search your particular system for the directories you are looking for.  If you search the internet regarding your particular distro there may be some information regarding specific locations.

Huh well please. for the sake of the next noobie that comes along... namely me... how did u do it on your distro  Huh i've seen that link
doku is highly vague

and thus leaves me more confused then helpfull. the patching part helped the lack of a finding folder did not. and ive tried using tree to scan for anything that remotely means "wireless drivers stored here". no luck.

hyperdyne ,

This thread is now closed.  If you are too lazy to try to help yourself, we are too lazy to help you.  There are millions of pages on the Internet regarding building new kernels.
