That is perfectly normal behavior.

As you can see in my post I run the commands:

ifconfig card_name down
iwconfig card_name mode monitor
ifconfig card_name up

"connection crashes" simply means that the network disconnects: this is the "error".

No, i've not killed network manager. I'll try to do kill it.

Maybe airmon-ng is optimized to do this work. Also with airmon-ng i need to kill network manager, so what difference exixts between the linux commands and the airmon-ng ?

Thanks in advance.

Define "the connection crashes". What program is crashing? What's the command you ran? What is the error?

Out of curiosity, have you killed the network managers? And why not using airmon-ng?

hello everybody,

i'm using a tplink tl-wn722n wifi usb stick to sniff wireless traffic with wireshark but it seems to me that it doesn't work well and is instable.
I use a ubuntu 16.04, i've not installed aircrack. I only set the monitor mode using the following cammands:

ifconfig card_name down
iwconfig card_name mode monitor
ifconfig card_name up

After few minutes the connection crashes. Why ?

Please, suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Vincenzo.

dude, I don't do spoonfeeding.

As for the functions, if you took the time to look them up, you would have figured out they are public domain pretty much and they are present in a bunch of SSL libraries too such as OpenSSL (and probably GnuTLS, PolarSSL, etc).

Yes, but it needs to do all the calculations based on the information in the handshake.

A cracker in JS will be pretty slow.

isnt airdecap-ng is to extract information from the cap file? and not for cracking passwords!!???

i want to brute force a wpa key in another programming language!!
i wand the (hmac_md5) function and  (pbkdf2_sha1) and the (sha1_prf pseudo random function) functions written in code! so i can reprogram them in javascript

hello everyone :D

im trying to program wpa2 password cracker in another language
or to translate aircrack-ng to another programming language! javascript  for example or any other language!

i can extract essid bssid sta anonce snonce etc from the cap file
and i programmed a brute force password generator to use it

but now!
how can i use what i extracted from the cap to crack

looking at this guide here
http://www.ciscopress.com/articles/article.asp?p=370636&seqNum=6
and using this
https://asecuritysite.com/encryption/PBKDF2z

1: we calculate PMK from basic info and a pass phrase
2: then calculate PTK from PMK and MACs and NONCEs
3: then calculate MIC from PTK
4: we compare with the MIC from cap file

in step 1 i found the function to calculate PBKDF2 on the internet (need to verify it) its in the second url i gave you up
but steps 2 and 3!! i dont know anything about the coding inside! what the heck is pseudo random function!

in other words i want to code myself to calculate PTK from PMK
and if im lucky enough .. someone will give me the MIC calculation functions too :P

i tried to extract codes from aircrack-ng.c file .. but couldnt! you guys did really good job in aircrack
