Title: Atheros AR5BXB112 802.11 a/b/g/n 450Mbps dual-band
Post by: oiyakir on August 20, 2017, 05:03:18 pm
Hi, I did all my homework in compatibility search, as requested by the aircrack homepage, but all in vain. Maybe I am just unfortunate, or plainly stupid. Just to state it, as a noob.

I am a Tails user, currently running Tail 3.1 and I am planning to buy brand new laptop from here https://tehnoetic.com/TET-X200. But only in case it can run aircrack-ng, which is preinstalled in Tails.

It is using following wi-fi card:

    Atheros AR5BXB112 802.11 a/b/g/n 450Mbps dual-band
    - based on AR9380
    - w/ 3 antennas, MIMO 3x3:3
    - 2.4GHz/5GHz

It is working with Linux-libre, version 3.0 or later. The Linux Libre driver is ath_9k.

Unfortunately I wasnt able to find if this setup is compatible with aircrack-ng. Any help in this regards will be much appreciated.

Have you checked http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=faq#what_is_the_best_wireless_card_to_buy ? It mentions that chipset.
