Title: Which USB Cards to buy?
Post by: fanzeyi on April 15, 2014, 01:56:21 pm
Hi,

This is a typical which to buy question. Before the question I should clear that I have read http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=compatibility_drivers#which_is_the_best_card_to_buy and http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=faq#what_is_the_best_wireless_card_to_buy completely, and I still can't determine which cards I should buy.

Here is my requirements:

1. USB Cards
2. 802.11n support

My research:

1. Atheros is the most recommended chipsets in wiki, but madwifi-ng can't work with USB drivers. Zydas maybe a good choice, but seems don't work in 802.11n mode. (I have a Zydas USB driver, works fine but I can't find a 802.11g Wi-Fi to test.)
2. Ralink's is nice but doesn't support 802.11n.
3. Realtek: Almost all USB driver in local market is using Realtek, maybe RTL8191SU or something else familiar to RTL8187L.

(I also read the topic about RTL8191SU here http://forum.aircrack-ng.org/index.php/topic,563.msg1403.html)

So any advice?
