My smartphone's Mac address is F0:D0:8C:5A:62:E9. But when I run sudo airodump-ng wlan0mon, I don't see my smartphone's Mac address under station. Why not?

If you just run 'aireplay-ng', you'll see, it's quite obvious. If you're lazy, you can grep for client. There is also the man pages that you can search (man aireplay-ng), and even the wiki.

Please do me a favor, and learn to use the available help to get answer to basic question such as this.

Quick answer: -c

It means that the screen is off, like when your phone is in your pocket and you're not using it.

What does screen is turned off mean? While my computer is sending deauth packets, my smartphone is turned on and I am looking at settings to make sure the smartphone gets disconnected from the access point.

Smartphone typically go into sleep when the screen is turned off (and I'm guessing when there isn't any data to send).

Another thing: you should specify the client, as devices also often ignore the deauth when there is no client specified.

I installed Kali Linux. I ran aireplay-ng. Won't deauthenticate my smart phone. I ran sudo aireplay-ng --deauth 300 -a 00:71:C2:BF:EC:10 wlan0. Won't deauthenticate my phone. Tried making sure there is no channel hopping. wlan0 is locked onto channel 11. Ran sudo airodump-ng wlan0 -c 11 --bssid 00:71:C2:BF:EC:10. Tried using airmon-ng check kill and making sure there are no interfering processes. Tried running sudo aireplay-ng -0 0 -a 00:71:C2:BF:EC:10 wlan0. Ran an injection test. Ran sudo aireplay-ng --test -e Buffalo1 -a 00:71:C2:BF:EC:10 wlan0. To make sure card can communicate with AP. I think I have tried disabling wlan0. I ran sudo ifconfig wlan0 down and that didn't work. How do I fix this problem.

The '-b' is a shortcut for '--band'. I'm assuming you're looking for --bssid instead.
Just FYI while we're at it, the '-i' means only capture IVs and doesn't take any parameter.

The interface name is a lone parameter.
