@strasharo, you are answering a topic that is 2 years old. A quick look in the wiki would tell you to get to wikidevi and you can get the answer there.

Hi guys!  :)
I can confirm that RT3072 works out of the box (i have a totolink USB with this chipset) and is fully compatible with aircrack-ng suite using default
Is that Totolink N300UA? Does it inject fine as well?

As usual, try any combinations:
- KoreK with different key size
- split files

have always been able to crack wep with 1.5 million ivs max before (usually less than 40000 ivs, sometime 150000 ivs). but for the first time even 5 million ivs doesn't cut it.
--so anyone have experience cracking wep with more than 5 millions ivs ? what is the max you have done before
--any advice or pointers or different parameter switches to try are appreciated

Hi guys,

So I'm pretty much new to all this sort of thing. I'v been around computers for quite sometime, but never dabbled into networking security, or Linux, but recently picked up an interest in it, so thought 'd give it a go.

First thing though, and I'm sure many have hear this question asked many times, but I'm looking for an adapter that supports monitor mode, packet injection etc.. the features needed for the task.
I decided on the TP-Link TL-WN722N, as online, it seemed to be the go-to wifi adapter, especially for noobies, but, unfortunately it would seem, the 'Version 1' adapter (with the Atheros chipset) is no longer available, and the newer 'Version 2', & 'Version 3', both include an unsupported Realtek chipset.

Before looking at the other options I came across, I thought I'd have a look to see if any others came with that Atheros chipset, and I came across a Generic brand wifi N, with the needed Atheros AR9271, which also mentions using the TPLink TL-WN722N driver. I was wondering, what are your thoughts on this adapter compared to the TP-Link + other compatible adapters? Would it still perform just as well ?

Solved. I'm not sure why, I had the same parameters in the windows gui, but I downloaded Aircrack-ng on linux and used the commands as proposed and was able to solve the issue. (In this case the input was "aircrack-ng -a 1 -n 128 /dir.../")

Thank you!

apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade then reboot.

I really don't think your neighbors allow you to test their network. Do it on your own.
