Hello! I've just bought the AWUS036H and installed the AWUS036NHA drivers and whenever I'm trying to deauth a network (my network)
 
This comes up
"NB: this attack is more effective when targeting
a connected wireless client (-c <client's mac>).

And on my other terminal where I'm picking up the beacon, data and stuff.. This comes up the moment I try to deauth

So basically before I deauth the right side of the terminal keeps working fine, but the moment I'm trying to deauthenticate or "inject" both of them stops at the same time. And the error comes up

Question why did you install nha drivers the USB adapter you have is the most widely support chipset i.e rtl8187

Remove the nha driver and start again rtl8187 is supported fully in kernels with injection and monitoring

You don't need to install any drivers with the rtl8187

Oh alright thank you very much. And as an answer to your question as to why I installed the NHA driver... Well it's because there wasn't an option for choosing AWUS036H. There was AWUS036NHA, AWUS036NH V2, etc... But no AWUS036H

Reason there was no option is because the rtl8187 is already supported no need to compile a driver

Are you using virtual box or VMware to load kali if you are
Make sure you installed the guest addition drivers otherwise you won't see the device

If your using virtual box install guest additions and the extension pack

I'm using VirtualBox, I made sure I downloaded the Extension Pack and the Guest Additions driver. Thank you very much. And do I need to choose USB 3.0 in the USB section under the settings in VirtualBox? Because I don't think I have a USB 2.0 Port on my pc. Thanks!

Yes select it in the tool menu bar and allow the virtual box to use your adapter otherwise you won't see your adapter

If your system have 3.0 USB and your plugged use 3.0 in the settings and anyway your 3.0 USB ports are backward compatible to allow the use of 2.0

The problem still persists after uninstalling the drivers and just plugging it in. The same errors show up as I stated before.

EDIT: Alright, I'll try and put it in 2.0

Reboot the virtual box after uninstalling the drivers

If the problem persists do some trouble shooting . boot up a new live install and see is the driver detected and working you may have corrupted the drivers and the OS is  borked try reinstalling kali in a new virtual machine

I did reboot, I had to reboot even my host PC.

Also make sure you do apt-get dist-upgrade in your new virtual box to make sure your system is uptodate

Alright, I'll try and re-installing Kali.

On a side note: I can somehow get a handshake using cowpatty if I just wait and see. But if I want to deauthenticate using aireplay, I can't.

Please display all the commands your using to achieve deauth ,monitor etc
Cowpatty handshake ? You need to achieve the WPA handshake first then use cowpatty to crack
