misterx if I have installed the Biwond AW1200 with chipset Ralink RT3070 can I use any other adapter with the same chipset without need to install nothing ?

By example the Alfa green Alfa AWUSO36NH  Chipset: RT3070 ?

I have this situation :

In the laptop goes well, in the desktop doesn't . Same configuration in the virtual machines under virtualbox hosted in windows 8.1.

Don't recognize the usb adapter in the deskop but yes in the laptop

For me is simply a strange thing. I have Virtualbox hosted in windows 8.1 , in the laptop and in the desktop too.
The virtual machine in the laptop goes well. The usb filter is recognized and the adapter works in monitor mode (Ralink RT3070)

I suppose the thing is more about VB than kali. But is in interaction.
The VB configuration is

The device is not recognized in the desktop installation.

When I try to attach the usb device the error message I receive is this :

I have issues with USB and VirtualBox - you are not alone.  Sometimes it works, sometimes not, VERY dependent on the specific machine and the hardware.  Also, there could be BIOS settings that can help but finally I gave up and just dedicate equipment to Linux for these purposes.  I dual boot laptops if needed.  Somewhat painful, but at least it is stable.

Other solution in some forums may be migrate to vmware.
I am searching other solutions too. I have to analyze theses and I will put the results here.

I have used in the past too the dual boot with ubuntu, but this method is more limitating because I am not very used to Linux and usually likes or need to stay under windows (I think this is not very clever.... but is my situation....)
In the VB forum sends me to the usb troubleshooting section....
