Hi,

I was lucky enough to capture two handshakes from the same access point.

However when I use aircrack-ng to crack the wpa2 passphrase it reports errors.

Below are the error messages with bssid and essid masked.

For the first handshake,

sudo aircrack-ng ~/w-01.cap ~/Downloads/rockyou.txt

Opening /home/user/w-01.cap

Opening /home/user/Downloads/rockyou.txt

Unsupported file format (not a pcap or IVs file).

Read 285575 packets.

   #  BSSID              ESSID                     Encryption

   1  00:01:02:03:04  w                  WPA (1 handshake)

Choosing first network as target.

Opening /home/user/w-01.cap
Opening /home/user/Downloads/rockyou.txt

Invalid packet capture length 892613426 - corrupted file?
Unsupported file format (not a pcap or IVs file).

For the second handshake,

sudo aircrack-ng ~/w-02.cap ~/Downloads/rockyou.txt

Opening /home/user/w-02.cap

Opening /home/user/Downloads/rockyou.txt

Segmentation fault

For these 2 handshake incidents, I use <ctrl> C to break the airodump-ng (as I don't know how to end airodump-ng properly) when I saw that there is successful handshake being captured, not sure if this action cause the capture files to corrupt ?

Need help !

Thanks.

Raymond

Wordlist require the -w parameter. Any file without an option is considered a pcap file.

By the way, aircrack-ng doesn't need sudo
